Each man brings certain gifts, abilities, skills and his own passion to this organization. Together they better the lives of young people and empower mentors throughout Grand Rapids.

Roy Clark

Roy A. Clark is the founder and visionary of Mentor1. He and his wife have been mentoring for over fifteen years. They have adopted three beautiful children from the heart of Grand Rapids and have committed their lives to seeing every mentoring organization in town receive a surplus of mentors who are screened, committed and trained.

Mitchell Lyons

Mitchell Lyons is a former NFL player for both the Falcons and the Steelers. Mitch is the father of six and committed to mentoring through coaching. Mitch brings a desire to see young people developed over the long haul by providing opportunities and relationships that bring out the best in young people. Mitch is the husband of Angela and the father of Taylor, Dalton, Bailey, Jourdan, Trent and Grace.

Michael Oren

Michael Oren is a Major Accounts Manager with Xerox. Michael is married to Amie and together they make a team that is helping advance the cause of mentoring across Kent County. Michael has a desire and many abilities to research and write grants along with an ability for long term strategic thinking.
